The One and Only Ivan

I designed the look of the cards for the trailer and TV spots for Disney's movie The One and Only Ivan. It's about a circus gorilla who learns to paint.

The cards were designed very organically and messy, as though the gorilla himself had painted them.

Each internal card is a different color, as though it was a different paint from the gorilla's palette. The Main Title is all the colors combined, as though it's the culmination of all the colors he has been painting throughout the whole trailer.

I even affected the Disney Logo, converting the iconic fireworks of the original into organic paint splashes.

The cast run splats over top of the Main Title, continuing the messy and expressive feel as though the painting will always keep going.
